China and cryptocurrencies haven’t had the best relationship with multiple bans having been ruled out throughout the years. This, however, doesn’t mean that China isn’t interested in blockchain technology, they are actually very interested.
Before China introduced a series of bans, China was the absolute leading country in the world of Bitcoin with almost 90% of the trading volume being from China at one point. This reality quickly changed, but some people believe that China might be easing their regulation in the future as the market ages.
Even though cryptocurrencies aren’t that popular among the regulators in China, the government is very excited about the technology behind, blockchain. In a recent TV interview on China’s state-owned TV channel, CCTV, blockchain technology was praised.
Most notably, blockchain was called 10 times more valuable than the internet itself.
