MindSports – Decentralized Social Gaming Network

Aim

The aim of the MindSports project is to establish a decentralized social gaming network, focusing on intellectually challenging games such as Chess, Shogi & Poker. By utilizing blockchain technology the MindSports platform offers a secure and transparent experience. Users will be able to earn the ERC20 token issued by the MindSports project, MindTokens. There are different ways to earn these coins on the platform, these include playing games against other people, host games, govern games and help improve the anti-cheating algorithm. As an ERC20 token, MindTokens will be exchangeable with other cryptocurrencies which will then be convertible to fiat money if needed.  The MindSports platform is currently scheduled to have +10 games on it, but more games will be added continuously.

Features

The MindSports gaming platform brings a plethora of services and mechanics aimed at bringing users the best experience possible. First and foremost, arguably the most annoying thing to encounter as a gamer is a cheater.  Therefore an anti-cheating system is implemented in the technology surrounding the gaming platform to eliminate these bad actors. Another value MindSports want their platform to have, is community power. Members of the MindSports community will have the ability to vote for new games to be added to the platform. Besides from joining games with your friends or even just strangers, users will have the ability to create their own tournaments with price pools consisting of MindTokens. These payouts will automatically be made utilizing smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain. This allows for transparent, secure and fair payments to be issued to the appropriate tournament participants. The platform also comes with a built-in messaging service.

Industry

For any project, a market of considerable size is always important. In this case, many markets intertwine making the potential userbase of digital intellectual- games & platforms like MindSports huge. There are around 600 million people playing chess on a worldwide scale, not all of them digitally, but as the entire world moves towards digitalization, such a base is always a good sign. The entire mobile & computer gaming industry is constantly growing which also contributes to the potential userbase of MindSports. Today, there are already apps that offer online chess, but MindSports aims to be so much more than just an app that offers a game. They seek to offer a whole ecosystem, where a plethora of games exist and the user experience is at the center point of the platform. Here are some of the features from the MindSports platform compared to other currently popular online chess apps.
