Social platforms are becoming less personal as the focus isn’t on users
If you have been a regular user of the internet for many years, you are sure to have experienced a switch in the way many social platforms work. Two of the most notable sites, are Facebook and YouTube. They both used to show everything you had marked as something you wanted to see either by liking a page or following a channel. But throughout the years this changed, now the posts and content you are shown isn’t necessarily what you have chosen to see, but rather what they think might keep you on the site for a longer time, and often this means content that you really don’t care about. While you see more of what you haven’t chosen to be shown, you miss out on things you do want to see. iShook, a platform that combines social media and digital content such as e-books and publications, is taking a whole different approach to how their users discover digital content. A very notable difference between iShook and other similar platforms is that users can create their very own digital library on the iShook app, access it anywhere in the world and even share it with their friends. iShook aims to only provide users with relevant content that they actually want to see. But most importantly, iShook will bring the aspect of social interacting to a whole new level which brings a new dynamic to the way users discover new e-books or other publications on the platform.
More balance and connectivity between authors and readers
One of the things authors should have a way easier time doing is connecting with their readers. On iShook, authors have this ability which can be helpful not only to generate additional revenue by engaging with potential buyers, but also receive direct feedback in order to improve their product. iShook will utilize blockchain technology in order to power their platform which comes with its benefits. It creates a much more balanced environment because of the decentralization it brings but also brings security, transparency and the opportunity to improve royalty payouts. By using their own ERC20 token, SHK, to facilitate payments and rewards on the platform, payments can be almost instantaneous. Automatic instant royalty payouts can also be created through the use of smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain, which can be of great benefit to authors. iShook has already proven their concept through an early version of the app which is currently available on the IOS App Store. This app has over 20 thousand users and gains more every single day.
To fund their project, iShook is raising funds through an initial coin offering (ICO), selling their ERC20 token SHK. SHK tokens will be an essential part of using the iShook platform for both readers and authors, which creates a natural demand for the SHK token relative to the popularity of iShook.
The token sale started the 12th of March
