GoHelpFund – Blockchain Based Humanitarian Fundraising Platform

Aim

GoHelpFund aims to create a fully transparent humanitarian fundraising platform using blockchain technology. What this entails is the abillity for charitable-contributors to track their own contributions, ensuring that the donation made, does, in fact, go to the intended cause. By utilizing blockchain technology, everyone will be able to verify transactions on the public ledger, eliminating the element of distrust, because everything is public and controlled by tested code. It’s human nature to want to help other people, especially when someone is worse off than yourself, but many are discouraged intermediaries are not transparent leaving the potential contributors doubtful. There have been many cases of money intended for charity ending up in the wrong pockets, which might make people not trust charities. This is what GoHelpFund is here to change, everyone should be able to donate to any cause, with the full confidence that their money ends up in the right spot. The GoHelpFund-fundraising platform gives users the ability to make charitable donations through the use of their ERC20 token, HELP. Blockchain already has and will change even more aspects of the current world, so creating a truly transparent charity platform, only seems natural.

All the latest and most innovative technologies are being used by the GoHelpFund project to make the overall user experience as good as possible. Some of these technologies and services include machine learning, artificial intelligence, Amazon web services infrastructure and of course the Ethereuem blockchain. The GoHelpFund project has plans to migrate their operations to their own blockchain in the future, which will allow them to implement features such as master nodes & give them more flexibility. As the vision for this platform is to positively impact the world, the platform has a list of goals they want to accomplish. Users will have the ability to contribute to all sorts of different causes through the platform. These include

  • Help eradicate poverty
  • Child protection & Inclusion
  • Protect human rights
  • Promote sustainable development
  • Help counter terrorism

These are just some of the current goals of the platform, new will obviously be created throughout time, as new needs appear in the everchanging world. The entire ecosystem of the GoHelpFund platform can be seen in the graphic created by the team

Industry

Humans will always want to help other people, it’s simply encoded into their DNA. This is seen by the vast amount of money donated to charity each year. In 2016 a total of 390 billion dollars was donated to charity, of which 282 billion dollars was contributed by individuals. The rest of the donations was from companies and cooperations. The amount of money donated even grew 3% from 2015 to 2016. Because so many people are donating to charity, and because the sheer amount is so significant, the people need a platform which they can truly trust. Blockchain could be the answer to this dilemma, which is precisely what GoHelpFund is using to build their fundraising platform.
