The current downside of gaming and how Bitguild aims to fix it
In the current state of the gaming industry, many games aren’t trying to create the best gaming experience possible for its users, rather they are trying to maximize the amount of profit the game generates. This unfortunate shift in focus is not going unnoticed in the gaming community, just take a look at what happened with Star Wars Battlefront 2 a couple of months back. It’s becoming ever more common to have a bunch of content locked away if you don’t purchase additional DLC packs, and much of the progression system is replaced by pay to win loot box systems. Many current games don’t even allow players to trade their items with each over, and those who do often have restrictive rules set in place. Bitguild aims to change all of this, they are creating a blockchain based gaming platform powered by Ethereum smart contracts. Bitguild wants to be the biggest community of gamers who can enjoy a ton of great games on the same platform. Developers who wish to create a game for the Bitguild platform can even raise funds from the Bitguild community, who of course all are interested in games so it’s the perfect demographic for that kind of fundraising.

Cross-game interacting taken to a whole new level
A very cool mechanic that is being built on the Guildbit platform is the ability to take what you have achieved in one game and use it in another. An example of this could be a specific in-game item like a legendary armor, if the game you got the armor in all of a sudden isn’t really played anymore and you want to jump on the latest hottest game, you can transfer that same armor to the new game. You could potentially even use the entire progress you made in one game in another. This creates a truly rewarding experience when progressing in a game because you will be able to take all your stuff with you on your next adventure. All of this is possible because of the blockchain technology, Bitguild games can simply pull your account data from the blockchain and integrate it into the new game and only you have the power to let them take it, giving you full control of your data and progress. In-game items will also be tradeable on a completely open marketplace using smart contracts, which means that you can trade anything with anyone and no one can stop you, just like if you were to transfer cryptocurrency. In this sense, your digital wallet becomes more of a tokenized digital inventory which can display your different items.

PLAT Token sale
To fund their project, Bitguild is raising funds through an initial coin offering (ICO), selling their ERC20 token Platinum. The Platinum token (PLAT) is going to be an essential part of the Bitguild ecosystem as it facilitates a range of services and payments. Platinum tokens might migrate to their own blockchain in the future, in which case all PLAT holders will receive the new PLAT tokens at a 1:1 ratio.
